With bookings commencing today, the new variants will be available across all Tata Motors authorized dealerships.

The new Nexon XZ+ (P) / XZA+ (P) variants will be equipped with additional premium features such as Premium Benecke Kaliko Leatherette ventilated front seats, air purifier and auto-dimming IRVM. Additionally, the new XZ+ (HS) / XZA+ (HS) variants will sport an air purifier to make the drives healthier for the occupants. The footage shows racing driver Narain Karthikeyan having some fun with the Tata Nexon EV on the curves of Kolli Hills and later joined by the upcoming Tata Tigor EV. Both cars are then being driven around together.

Even though it is a teaser video of the new Tata Tigor EV, there are a few reasons why the Tata Nexon EV is a part of it. For instance, both belong to the same automobile manufacturer. Also, both are electric vehicles. Apart from that, the upcoming Tigor EV will be powered by the same Ziptron technology that can also be found on the Nexon EV.

The official specs of the new Tata Tigor EV have not been disclosed yet but they will be soon because we are expecting Tata Motors to launch the new Tigor EV in the near future. For reference, the Tata Nexon EV has a 30.2 kWh lithium-ion battery pack and a permanent magnet synchronous motor. The electric SUV has around 129 PS of power and 245 Nm of torque. The claimed 0-100 kmph acceleration time is 9.9 seconds. The Tata Nexon EV can be charged from 10-90% via any 15A plug point in 8.5 hours. It also supports fast charging which is capable of taking the battery charge level from 0-80% in just 60 minutes.

Tata Motors is preparing to increase the prices across its passenger vehicle lineup. The company says that it has to take this step due to the steep climb in overall input costs. We are expecting the brand to make an official announcement regarding the price hike in the coming few weeks and the revised prices will come into effect from 1 August 2021.

In an official communication, Tata Motors said:

Tata Motors, India's leading vehicle manufacturer intends to shortly mark an appropriate increase in prices of its 'New Forever' range of Cars and SUVs. The steep climb in overall input costs, especially due to continuing rise in costs of essential raw materials including steel and precious metals, necessitates a transfer of at least some part of this increase to end customers.

This will be the third price hike this year that Tata Motors will be implementing in its passenger vehicle lineup. The company has previously increased the prices of its passenger vehicles in January and May.

In its base-spec trim, the Triber comes equipped with two airbags, a seatbelt reminder system, speed alert warning, rear parking sensors and ABS with EBD. Tata Tiago

In its most recent update, the Tata Tiago got quite a few comprehensive updates over its predecessor. On the outside, the hatchback gets new front bumper, headlamps and a new grille. In addition to this, the car also gets dual-tone alloy wheels, a black roof and black ORVMs with turn indicators.

It comes mated to either a 5-speed manual transmission option or a 4-speed AT gearbox. The Vitara Brezza is offered with a 2WD system. Prices for the Maruti Vitara Brezza starts at INR 7.39 lakh (ex-showroom) for the LXI variant.

Speaking on the discontinuation of select diesel variants of Tata Nexon, a statement from the carmaker reads -

The Tata Nexon is among the most popular compact SUVs in India and its diesel variant is very popular with a growing demand and a loyal following. To simplify the choices for its customers, Tata Motors has opted to discontinue select variants and introduced updates in others. The Nexon is now available in 20 variants offering customers an exciting product proposition at different price points and the most choice in the compact SUV segment. The Nexon’s range includes 12 variants in petrol and 8 variants in diesel with automatic and manual transmissions options. In keeping with its brand promise of ‘New Forever’ and with the objective to offer more value to customers, Tata Motors refines and refreshes its portfolio of trims and variants from time to time in line with market feedback.

This move likely comes due to low demand for the aforementioned trims. Carmakers are anyway known to frequently update and adapt model lineup as per customer feedback. To simplify the choices for its customers, the Nexon is now available in 20 variants, spread across different price points, maximizing value for the customer. The Nexon’s range includes 12 variants in petrol and 8 variants in diesel with automatic and manual transmissions options.

Some time ago, Tata added a new mid-spec XM(S) variant to the Nexon lineup, which brought the option of having a sunroof to a much lower price point. More recently, Tata Motors also deleted the physical buttons and dial controls for the infotainment system of the Nexon and relegated all functions to the touchscreen infotainment system itself. Recently, Tata also updated the Nexon with new Hinglish voice command feature.

Frequently tweaking the lineup has also helped Tata adapt the Nexon to demand, as it has consistently featured among the top 3 best-selling sub-compact SUVs for quite a few months now. Some of the key features on the Tata Nexon include a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple Carplay, iRA connected car tech, automatic climate control, rear AC vents, keyless entry, engine start/stop, cooled glovebox, automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, TPMS, cruise control, a sunroof, and much more.

Currently, Tata Motors offers the Nexon with two engine choices – 1.2L Revotron turbo-petrol and 1.5L Revotorq turbo-diesel. While the former is capable of churning out 120 PS of peak power against 170 Nm of max torque, the latter can develop rated power and torque outputs of 110 PS and 260 Nm, respectively.
