With an impressive mileage of 28.06 Km/kg, the Tiago iCNG will be available at a starting price of Rs 7.89 lakhs and the Tigor iCNG at Rs 8.84 lakhs (Ex-showroom Delhi).

Adding to the current color palate, Tata Motors will be introducing an interesting new Tornado Blue in the Tiago, Grassland Beige in Tiago NRG and a Meteor Bronze in the Tigor.

Introduced earlier this year, the iCNG range of products has received a phenomenal response in a short span of time, becoming the choice of vehicle for many customers looking to switch to CNG. Appreciated for their drivability, safety and features on offer, the iCNG technology by Tata Motors has proved its mark, furthering the sales of the Tiago and Tigor in their respective segments.

Based on 4 pillars of the company’s iCNG technology (‘Incredible’ performance, ‘Iconic’ safety, ‘Intelligent’ technology and ‘Impressive’ features), this new variant will now become the entry-level trim for the Tigor iCNG and will be offered with a host of safety and convenience features such as HarmanTM Infotainment System with 4 speaker system, power windows, central locking, rear parking sensors amongst others. Furthermore, the new Tigor XM iCNG variant will be available in Opal White, Daytona Grey, Arizona Blue, and Deep Red color options.

Furthermore, adding to the current colour palette, Tata Motors has also introduced an interesting new Midnight Plum in the Tiago and a Magnetic Red in the Tigor. Both these cars will come with a warranty of 2 years or 75,000 km, whichever is earlier, as a standard option for all customers.

The Tata Tiago iCNG and Tigor iCNG are powered by the Revotron 1.2L BS6 engine which produces a maximum power of 73 PS - the highest for any CNG car in this segment. The iCNG cars come with best-in-class technology and features, programmed to deliver optimum performance and seamless shifting of fuel modes from Petrol to CNG and vice versa, providing a no-compromise experience for their customers.

The Tata Tiago iCNG is available in 5 trims with prices starting at INR 6.09 lakh (ex-showroom). On the other hand, the Tigor iCNG has 3 trims that come at a starting price of INR 7.69 lakh (ex-showroom).

The new Tata Tigor EV will be launched on 31 Aug 2021. Tata Motors has shared the media invite which reveals that the event will be a virtual one. It will begin at 11 am. Tata Motors had revealed some of the key details about the new electric sedan at the time of its official unveiling. Now, all the information regarding the new Tigor EV will be released on 31 Aug 2021.

The new Tata Tigor EV will be the brand’s second electric car for the personal segment. It is also the second Tata car (after Tata Nexon EV) to feature the state-of-the-art high voltage electric architecture – Ziptron. The new Tigor EV delivers a peak power output of 55 kW and a peak torque of 170 Nm. It is capable of doing the 0 to 60 kmph sprint in 5.7 seconds. It comes with a 26 kWh lithium-ion battery pack which is efficiently packaged, providing the highest onboard energy in the segment. Tata Motors says that the low centre of gravity of the Tigor EV improves driving dynamics and handling. The company has also tuned the suspension setup for comfortable ride quality.

The new Tata Tigor EV has got an IP67-rated battery pack and motor to make it weather and worry-proof and comes with an 8-year and 1,60,000 km battery and motor warranty. It is based on a proven platform with Rear Crash compatible structure and also complies with ODB 64 test standard. The Impact-Resistant Battery Pack casing of Tigor EV complies with AIS - 048 standard for nail penetration at Cell Level. The new Tigor EV is compatible with a globally acceptable CCS2 charging protocol and can be fast-charged as well as slow charged from any 15 A plug point.

Besides a silent cabin, spacious interiors, the new Tata Tigor EV also offers 30+ connected car features including remote commands and remote diagnostics, so customers can be in touch with their EV through their phones.

The clip shows racing driver Narain Karthikeyan having some fun with the Nexon EV on the curves of Kolli Hills and later joined by the upcoming Tata Tigor EV. Also, both are electric vehicles. Apart from that, the upcoming Tigor EV will be powered by the same Ziptron technology that can also be found on the Nexon EV.

The electric vehicle can also be normally charged from any 15A plug point, which is convenient and easily available. It comes with zero tail-pipe emission, single-speed automatic transmission, dual airbags, ABS with EBD as standard across variants. The premium black theme interior with standard automatic climate control and Electric Blue accents across its interior and exterior will give it a differentiated presence from other Tata cars.

Tata Nexon

The Tata Nexon competes in the hotly-contested compact SUV segment against the likes of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue and Kia Sonet  among others. Despite this, Nexon is turning out to be a success for Tata becoming its bestseller vehicle and also among top 3 compact SUVs in India. On the outside, it features sharp and sporty headlamps and rounded-off grille. The vehicle gets large air intakes and contrasting skid plates. In its latest version, the car sits on a set of newly designed alloy wheels.

The Nexon features an semi-digital instrument cluster along with floating infotainment screen with mobile connectivity features as well. Apart from the new upholstery, the Nexon’s updated cabin also packs in new equipment to get it up to the mark with the competition. This includes a sunroof, fast mobile charger, rain-sensing wipers and cruise control. Tata Tiago

Like mentioned above, it was the Tata Tiago that changed the brand's destiny in India and has turned out to be quite a success. In its most recent update, the Tata Tiago got quite a few comprehensive updates over its predecessor. On the outside, the hatchback gets new front bumper, headlamps and a new grille. In addition to this, the car also gets dual-tone alloy wheels, a black roof and black ORVMs with turn indicators. On the inside, the new Tiago gets a mild update over its predecessor for freshness. The most major update of which is a fully digital instrument cluster as well as a new touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto alongside other connectivity options like USB and AUX-IN.

In terms of powertrain, the Tiago is powered by a sole 1.2-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine that delivers 84bhp and 113Nm of torque. The engine can be had in both five-speed manual and five-speed AMT options. Tata Tiago also received a turbo model under partnership with Jayem in the past but it didn't turn out be a success. Tata is now planning another turbo edition, with better tuning to steering and suspension.

Tata Tigor

Last on our list is the Tata Tigor, the Tiago based compact sedan, and also the most affordable sedan of India going up against the likes of Maruti Suzuki Dzire and Honda Amaze. Along with the Tiago, the Tata Tigor also received a substantial update with a fresh set of features and fresh design updates. Exterior-wise, the Tigor is based on the IMPACT 2.0 design philosophy. The vehicle takes inspiration from the Altroz with the protruding grille and wraparound headlamps. The front bumper is tweaked with a pair of large horizontal louvres for air-vents and there is a redesigned fog-lamp housing which now also integrates a pair of newly designed DRLs.

The interior is more or less similar to its predecessor except for new upholstery, updated instrument cluster and new features. Under the hood, the Tigor is also powered by a sole 1.2-litre petrol engine. The petrol engine produces 84bhp and 114Nm. Transmission options include the same five six-speed manual gearboxes and an AMT unit.

Tata Tigor

Tata Tigor is the only sedan offered by the carmaker in India. In its segment, it rubs shoulders with the likes of Hyundai Aura and Maruti Dzire but is priced more attractively. Tata dealerships around India are offering Tigor with benefits of up to INR 30,000, which consist of a cash discount and an exchange bonus.

Tata Nexon

Tata Nexon is the safest sub-4-meter SUV one can get in India. It is powered by 1.2-litre petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. Both powertrain options come paired with a manual or automatic gearbox. The SUV is being offered with benefits of up to INR 15,000 on the diesel model of the car. Meanwhile, the Nexon EV, which is the most affordable electric SUV offered in our market, is also being sold with benefits worth INR 15,000. It is propelled by a 30.2 kWh electric battery pack which shreds out 129bhp of peak power and offers an ARAI certified range of 312km.

Tata Harrier

The Tata Harrier is among the more popular SUVs in our market. It is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-diesel mill which comes paired with a 6-speed MT or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. This month, the SUV is being offered with benefits of up to INR 65,000 on all trims except CAMO Edition, Dark Edition, XM+ and XZA+, which are, instead, retailed with benefits up to Rs 40,000.

Inside the Tyre Mobility Kit, you will find an air compressor and a liquid sealant. The air compressor can be used to check your tire pressure on the go and in case of slow punctures or otherwise low tyre pressure, you can easily top up your tyres using this tool. To use the air compressor, you will need to plug it into the 12V charging socket of your car. Once connected to the power source, switch on the air compressor and you will hear the motor running.

Connect the other nozzle to the specific tyre with low pressure and it will top up automatically. It also comes with a tyre pressure gauge so that you can inflate your tires to the optimum level. Do note that when using the air compressor, you should keep your engine running or else it could suck out too much juice from the car battery. The air compressor is good for quick top ups or slow punctures. But what if you have a completely flat tire? Well, for that, Tata Motors have also provided a liquid tyre sealant.

To use this, you need to screw the sealant bottle into the air compressor at its designated slot. Once connected, plug the air compressor to the charging socket and the other nozzle to the tyre and it will completely fill the flat tyre with the liquid sealant. The liquid will solidify and seal the puncture from inside the tyre along with topping it up with air. This, however, is only a temporary solution to allow you to go the distance to properly fix your tyre.

Under the hood, both the Tiago and the Tigor are offered with just one petrol engine option. The BS6-compliant 1.2-litre naturally aspirated three-cylinder petrol engine produces 86 PS and 113 Nm. Gearbox options on both the cars include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed automated manual unit. The Tiago is currently priced between INR 4.85 lakh and INR 6.84 lakh (ex-showroom). Meanwhile, the Tigor is priced between INR 5.49 lakh and INR 7.63 lakh (ex-showroom).

In March this year, Tata Motors posted a sales growth of 422 per cent on a YoY basis. The carmaker sold a total of 29,655 units last month, whereas the sales figure stood at 5,676 units in the same month last year. Talking of the highest-selling car, the Nexon remained the top-selling product of the brand in March 2021 with 8,683 units being sold, and thus, registering a YoY growth of 228 per cent. Following the Nexon was the Altroz, which recorded sales of 7,550 units in March this year.

Last year in the same month, Tata Motors sold only 1,147 units of the Altroz. As a result, the YoY Growth for the Altroz for March stands at 558 per cent. The Tiago and Harrier, on the other hand, registered sales of 6,893 units and 2,284 units, respectively. The newest product of the brand – Tata Safari, managed to find 2,148 buyers in March. Interestingly, the Tigor posted the highest YoY growth for March of 1,591 per cent, with the lowest sales figure in the brand’s lineup.

Talking of the brand’s newest product in the Indian market – Tata Safari, it is a 7-seater SUV that rivals the Mahindra XUV500, MG Hector Plus and the likes. It is currently on sale at a starting price of INR 14.69 lakh, which goes up to INR 21.45 lakh. Powering the Safari is a 2.2L oil burner that puts out 170 PS of peak power and 350 Nm of max torque. It is available with two transmission choices – a 6-speed manual gearbox and 6-speed automatic transmission.

Early last year, the automaker introduced Altroz in the Indian market. In the premium hatchback space, it rivals with the likes of Maruti Baleno, Hyundai i20 and VW Polo. Mechanically, it derives power from a 1.2-litre petrol and diesel engine. The former develops 85bhp of power and 113 Nm of peak torque, while the latter is capable of shredding out power and torque outputs of 89bhp and 200 Nm. Transmission duties are done by a 5-speed MT. The hatchback is also available with a more powerful 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine that produces 110bhp and 140 Nm of twisting force. The engine comes paired with a 5-speed MT.

The carmaker has plans to introduce a DCT gearbox for Altroz turbo-petrol in the coming months. It is also the safest car in the premium hatchback space as it has scored a 5-star rating at the Global NCAP crash test. In terms of dimension, the Tata hatchback is 3,990 mm long, 1,755 wide, 1,523 mm tall and has a wheelbase of 2,501 mm. It gets retailed at starting price of INR 5.69 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the base XE petrol trim and goes all the way up to Rs 9.45 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the top-spec XZ Plus diesel variant.

On the other hand, the Tigor sub-compact sedan was the least selling Tata product last month, but in the same month, it registered it's maximum year-on-year growth of 1591 per cent. Tata Motors sold 2,097 units of Tigor in March 2021, whereas, the automaker was only able to retail 124 units of the car in the same month last year. That said, Tata Motors have been gaining on overall market share over the last few months and we expect the carmaker to strongly continue on this growth trajectory.

In March 2020, Tata Motors had a market share of just 4.03%, which increased to 9.25% by March 2021. That's a huge year-on-year growth of 5.22% in market share. And that can only be attributed to Tata's new range of cars that have been received very well by customers, particularly the likes of Altroz, Harrier and the new Safari. Tata's increased attention to safety have made them even more popular in the minds of Indian buyers who are continuously growing more aware about improved safety requirements.

Starting with the Tata Tiago , the entry level hatchback is available with a limited period offer of up to INR 25,000. This includes a consumer scheme and exchange offer of INR 15,000 and INR 10,000, respectively. Tata Motors have thrown in a lot of updates to the Tiago recently. The carmaker recently launched a Limited Edition version of the Tiago and even introduced a new XTA trim with the AMT gearbox. They even introduced the new 'Arizona blue' color option on the Tiago.

Moving on to the sedan sibling of the Tiago, the Tata Tigor is listed on the website with total benefits of INR 30,000. This includes a consumer scheme of INR 15,000 and an exchange offer of INR 15,000. Moving over to the Nexon sub-compact SUV, Tata Motors is offering benefits of up to INR 15,000. It is the diesel variants of the Nexon that are available with this exchange offer only. There are no offers on the petrol variants of the Nexon.

Lastly, Tata Motors is offering maximum benefits of up to INR 65,000 on the Harrier 5-seater SUV for March 2021. This includes a consumer scheme of INR 25,000 and an exchange offer of INR 40,000. These benefits, however, do not apply to CAMO and Dark Edition (XZ+ and XZA+ variants) of the SUV. If you are, however, looking to purchase these special edition models, you can avail a discount benefit of INR 40,000. Tata Motors is also providing special offers for corporates.

As for the all-new Safari, its been about a month since Tata launched its new flagship product. As you'd expect, the Safari has already become a pretty popular SUV with waiting period of up to 2 months for certain variants. Although Tata Motors haven't revealed the exact booking details for the new Safari, they have revealed that the higher-spec variants are "more in-demand". A fair few buyers have also opted for the top-spec Adventure Persona variant so far.

Tata Motors have however not revealed the exact price hike for each of the individual models and individual variants of each model. Stay tuned to this space for more updates on that. Price revisions at this time of the year have almost become a norm in the automotive industry. Tata Motors have said that the primary reason for the price hike is the rise in commodity prices and various other input costs. In an official statement, the company said,

"Rising input costs and material costs of steel, precious metals and semi-conductors have compelled the company to pass on a part of the cost to customers."

Several other manufacturers like Maruti Suzuki, Kia and Hyundai, Volkswagen and Skoda, all have hiked prices across their range. A few carmakers such as Skoda and Mercedes-Benz even introduced a few new features on their vehicles to compensate for the price hike. In terms of sales, Tata Motors witnessed some positive growth in 2020. Demand for the company's passenger vehicles increased by 39% in the first three quarters of FY21 compared to the same time period in FY20.

In fact, in the third quarter of FY21, the company registered its highest ever sales in the last 33 quarters and is working on liquidating the supply chain and ramp up its output to meet the increased demand. Going ahead, Tata Motors has a very important launch lined up for India - the new 2021 Tata Safari as the brand's new flagship product. This is the revival of an iconic name in Tata Motors lineup and it could sure take the market by a storm.

Tata Motors had previously said that they will be introducing turbo-petrol variants for both the Tiago and the Tigor to add to the existing lineup, but it will not be a dedicated hot-hatch as the JTP variants were. And while we have already seen spy shots of the Tiago turbo petrol on test before, this is the first time the Tigor was spotted in this guise. Upon launch, the Tata Tigor turbo will be pitted directly against the Hyundai Aura turbo, which is the only other turbo-petrol sedan in this segment.

Under the hood of the Tigor turbo, we expect Tata to throw in the 1.2L, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine from the Nexon. It will of course be detuned from what it makes in the Nexon. We expect this engine to produce about 99hp and 140Nm of torque in the Tigor. The engine should come mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard. The same engine will also be powering the Altroz turbo, where it is likely to produce 110hp and 140Nm of torque.

For reference, the older JTP variant was powered by a BS4-compliant 1.2-litre, turbocharged petrol engine that produced 112 bhp and 150 Nm of torque. So it definitely will not be as sporty as the JTP. As for styling changes, its difficult to comment anything on that regard right now as the car is heavily camouflaged. However, as is the trend, you can expect some blacked-out exterior treatment with smoked headlamps and possibly, some new colors as well.

Although this particular test mule was spotted with full wheel covers, the expect the production-spec model to come with stylish looking alloy wheels too. It however seems that the rear section will largely remain unchanged but a subtle spoiler could be thrown into the mix. The clear-glass LED tail lamps however remain unchanged. We do not get a look inside the cabin of the Tigor turbo variant, but we do not expect many changes there. It could just come with all-black upholstery and interior theme, with a few Turbo badges thrown in here and there. The Tata Tigor turbo is expected to launch sometime around mid-2021.

Tata Tiago

In many ways, Tata Tiago revived fortunes for Tata Motors and is one of the most value-for-money entry hatchbacks in India. In its most recent update, the Tata Tiago has been given quite a few comprehensive updates over its predecessor. Outside, the hatchback gets re-designed front bumper, headlamps and grille. In addition to this, the car also gets dual-tone alloy wheels, a blacked-out roof effect and black-out ORVMs with turn indicators.

Inside, the new Tiago gets a mild update over its predecessor, in terms of freshness. The most major update is the additions of a fully digital instrument cluster; along with a new touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, among other connectivity options like USB and aux-in.

When it comes to the powertrain, the Tiago gets a BS-VI-compliant 1.2-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine that delivers 84 bhp and 113 Nm of torque. The engine can be had in both five-speed manual and five-speed AMT options. The prices for the smallest Tata car, the Tiago starts at INR 4.70 Lakh*.

Tata Altroz

The Tata Altroz was introduced as the brand’s first-ever premium hatchback that goes against players like the Hyundai Elite i20, the Maruti-Suzuki Baleno and its mechanical-twin, Toyota Glanza; not to mention, the niche-yet-well-rounded Honda Jazz. Prices for the Tata Altroz start at INR 5.44 Lakh*, making it the most affordable premium hatchback in India.

In terms of features, the top-of-the-line XZ trim gets keyless-entry-and-start, electric ORVMs, and cruise control. Also on offer is a flat-bottom, tilt-adjustable steering wheel with controls for audio and voice commands. In terms of comfort, you get a height adjustable driver’s seat, single-zone digital climate control system, rear AC vents and a Harman touchscreen multimedia system with Android Auto and Apple Carplay. The  Tata Altroz even get 90-degree opening doors for easy ingress and egress, a first-of-its-kind in the industry.

Talking about the powertrain options, the Altoz gets a petrol and a diesel engine option. The petrol engine comes in the form of a 1.2-litre unit that puts out 85 bhp and 113 Nm of torque. The diesel, on the other hand, is a 1.5-litre engine that delivers 89 bhp and 200 Nm of torque. Tata is offering a sole manual transmission option throughout the range, a 5-speed manual. However, an automatic gearbox is on  the cards.

Tata Tigor

Along with the Tiago, the Tata Tigor compact sedan also received a substantial update with a fresh set of features and refreshed design. Additionally, the vehicle gets a BS-VI-compliant petrol and diesel engine option. The Tata Tigor goes up against Maruti-Suzuki Dzire, Honda Amaze and Hyundai Aura. However, it is the most affordable compact sedan in market with prices starting at INR 5.39 Lakh*.

Exterior design-wise, the Tigor is based on the IMPACT 2.0 design philosophy. The vehicle takes inspiration from the Altroz with a protruding grille and wrap-around headlamps. The front bumper is tweaked with a pair of large horizontal louvres for air-vents and it gets re-designed fog-lamp housings which now also get integrated DRLs.

The interior design is more or less similar to its predecessor. However, the new Tigor benefits from new upholstery design, an updated instrument cluster and new features. Under the hood, the Tigor gets a BS-VI-compliant version of the 1.2-litre petrol engine. The unit is capable of producing 84 bhp and 114 Nm. Transmission options include the same five-speed manual and AMT unit.

Tata Nexon

The Tata Nexon competes in the hotly-contested compact SUV segment against the likes of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue and Kia Sonet among others. However, what makes Tata Nexon so different is the fact that it's a 5-star crash test rated car by Global NCAP. Prices for the Tata Nexon starts at INR 6.99 Lakh*.

On the outside, it features sharp and sporty headlamps and rounded-off grille. The vehicle gets large air intakes and contrasting skid plates. In its latest version, the car sits on a set of newly designed alloy wheels. The Nexon now features an all-digital instrument cluster along with floating infotainment screen with mobile connectivity features as well. Apart from the new upholstery, the Nexon’s updated cabin also packs new equipment to get it up to the mark with the competition. This includes a sunroof, fast mobile charger, rain-sensing wipers and cruise control.

The Tata Nexon is powered by BS-VI 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine that delivers 118 bhp 170 Nm of torque and a 1.5-litre diesel engine that delivers 108 bhp and 260 Nm of torque. Transmission options include the same six-speed manual gearbox and an AMT unit.

The pandemic has also forced us to be accustomed to the ‘new normal’ and while we continue to understand its intricacies, a few things are clear. First, the popularity of public transport is set to decline as people will want to avoid any possible contraction. Second, the same will also increase demand for personal vehicles across the country. Tata Tiago and Tigor

The Tiago hatchback is now available with benefits of up to INR 28,000. This comprises of a cash discount of INR 15,000, exchange benefit worth INR 10,000 and a corporate discount of INR 3,000.

The Tigor, on the other hand, is now being offered with a discount of INR 35,000 that includes a cash discount of INR 15,000, exchange benefit of INR 15,000 and INR 5,000 worth of corporate discount.

Tata Nexon

Both the petrol and the diesel variants of the car are not subjected to any cash discounts. However, one can avail a corporate discount of INR 5,000 and an exchange bonus worth INR 15,000.

Tata Harrier

Select dealerships of Tata are offering massive cash discounts worth INR 1 lakh on the XMA and XZA variants of the Harrier. The same goes down to INR 80,000 for other variants, except the XZA Plus and Dark variants. This includes a cash discount of INR 25,000, an exchange benefit of INR 40,000 and a corporate discount of INR 15,000. Speaking of the XZA Plus and the Dark variants. The car gets an exchange bonus of INR 40,000 and a corporate discount of INR 15,000.

The manufacturer is currently not offering any benefits on the Tata Altroz. The car which was launched earlier this year is currently the most affordable offering in the premium hatchback segment with prices starting at INR 5.43 lakh* for the petrol variant and INR 6.99 lakh* for the diesel variant.
