The program will be offering white plate subscriptions for the entire Maruti Suzuki range of vehicles through one or more of its subscription partners. Subscription tenures can range from 12 to 48 months.

Maruti Suzuki Subscribe is a program wherein customers can enjoy owning a car without buying a vehicle. It allows customers to opt for cars from the range of Maruti Suzuki vehicles, choose from multiple tenure options, at an all-inclusive fixed monthly rental. The monthly rental includes the cost of the vehicle, registration charges, vehicle maintenance & service, insurance (new & renewals), along with roadside assistance.

Once the tenure is over, the customer has an option to upgrade to a new car, or avail the option of buying back the subscribed car. The service also offers the customers the option of foreclosing the subscription during the tenure.

Launched in July 2020, Maruti Suzuki Subscribe is a program where a customer can enjoy owning a car without buying a vehicle. It allows the customer to opt from a range of Maruti Suzuki vehicles, for multiple tenure options, for an all-inclusive fixed monthly rental. This monthly rental includes the vehicle usage charges, registration charges, maintenance, insurance, and other common services related to vehicle usage. Once the tenure is over, the customer has an option to switch over to a new car or avail the option of purchasing the subscribed car. The service also offers the customers the option of foreclosing the subscription at any point in time.

Maruti Suzuki Subscribe currently offers cars across 20 cities including Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Mumbai, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Indore, Mangalore, Mysore and the new addition Kolkata.

Customers can avail the service through four subscription partners namely: Quiklyz, Orix, Myles and ALD. It also provides the customers with an added option of choosing between white or black registration plates, thus offering further flexibility to the car ownership experience.

Maruti Suzuki has also launched a marketplace model for Maruti Suzuki Subscribe that served as a unified platform to offer customised car subscription products through multiple partners at competitive rates. It offers added convenience and flexibility to modern-age car buyers under the umbrella slogan of ‘Your choice of car. Your choice of subscription provider.’

These eight vehicles include WagonR, Swift, Baleno, Alto 800, Dzire, Vitara Brezza, Eeco and Ertiga. Ertiga joined the top 10 best-selling passenger vehicles for the first time, in 2021.

Interestingly, hatchbacks bagged the top four slots in the list. WagonR with over 1.83 lakh units became the highest selling car model of the year followed by Swift, Baleno and Alto 800. The eight Maruti Suzuki models contribute over 83% of the total volumes of the top 10 selling models and almost 38% of the total passenger vehicle sales volumes in 2021.

The pictures of this modified Maruti Ignis has been uploaded by Modified_In on Instagram. The first thing that will instantly catch your attention is the lurid purple and black dual-tone wrap job. The wrap job is in a metallic finish, with most of the front-end and roof being wrapped in black while the sides and rear are wrapped in purple. The colourway also gives this Ignis a contrasting finish, like the front upper half of the bumper is purple, while the door handles, ORVMs, roof spoiler and half of the rear bumper is wrapped in black.

Other visible changes include a set of new six-spoke graphite grey alloy wheels, Yokohama tyres, and an aftermarket exhaust tip. There are also a pair of racing tow straps on the front and rear. Though there are no details about other changes, but the wrap job itself is more than enough to catch peoples’ attention.

The Maruti Ignis received a mid-life facelift last year which updated its powertrain to meet BS-VI emission norms, and also brought visual tweaks like a new front grille, bumper, and fog lamp housings. Maruti also added two new colour options while the interior gets a new 7-inch touchscreen infotainment screen with inbuilt Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Prices for the Maruti Ignis start from Rs 4.95 lakh for the base Sigma trim and goes up to Rs 7.36 lakh for the flagship Alpha AMT variant. Do note all prices are ex-showroom. It is powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine that makes 83 PS and 113 Nm of peak power and torque figures respectively. You can pair the engine with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT transmission.

As we had both the cars at our disposal recently, we thought of putting their acceleration runs against each other to find out which one’s quicker to show the 100 kmph reading on the speedometer. In the first attempt, both Swift and Ignis took 13.50 seconds to reach the 100 kmph mark. However, in the second attempt, the Swift took 13.97 seconds to reach the 100 kmph mark, while the Ignis took 13.23 seconds to do the same.

The third final run followed the same suit, with Swift taking 13.23 seconds to do the 0-100 kmph sprint, while the Ignis taking 12.80 seconds only, thereby making it nearly half a second quicker to the ton. With these results at our hands, it is clear that the Ignis is the peppier one of the two. While the Swift is a more powerful car on paper, it is the Ignis that wins on the tarmac.

The bigger contact patch of the Swift facelift’s tyres can be addressed as a reason for the Ignis’ win. The top-spec ZXI+ trim of the Swift facelift comes with 185/65/R15 tyres. The range-topping trim of the Ignis facelift, on the other hand, rides on a set of 175-section rubber. Talking of the prices, the Ignis facelift starts at INR 4.89 lakh and tops out at INR 7.30 lakh. The Maruti Swift facelift, on the other hand, is priced between INR 5.73 lakh and INR 8.41 lakh.

Maruti Suzuki Arena

The Maruti Suzuki Celerio is currently available with a cash discount of INR 25,000 along with an exchange bonus of INR 20,000 and a corporate discount of INR 6,000. The company’s popular compact SUV, Maruti Vitara Brezza is currently available with a cash discount of INR 10,000, an exchange bonus of INR 25,000 and a corporate discount of INR 6,000. Similarly, the Maruti S-Presso can be bought with a cash discount of INR 20,000, an exchange bonus of INR 20,000 and a corporate discount of INR 6,000.

All variants of the Ignis is now available with an exchange bonus of INR 15,000, a corporate discount of INR 6,000. Apart from this, the Sigma and Alpha variants are being offered with a cash discount of INR 25,000 and INR 10,000 respectively. Meanwhile, the Delta and Zeta variants get a cash discount of INR 20,000 each.

A few dealerships are offering the XL6 with an exchange bonus of INR 20,000 and a corporate discount of up to INR 7,000. The modified Maruti Ignis in question here is the base Sigma variant finished in Pearl White shade, which is basically stripped off of all the modern creature comforts. However, the folks at ‘Speed Demonz’ have tried to make the car look cool, by playing with a black theme quite tastefully.

On the outside, this modified Maruti Ignis gets its entire roof panel, outside rearview mirrors and front grille finished in an all-black theme, the last one of which usually gets chrome finished bits. In addition, there are few black add-ons like 15-inch alloy wheels and roof-mounted spoiler at the back, the former of which comes wrapped here over meatier looking 205/55 R15 tires.

The headlights are smoked here and get aftermarket LED projector headlamps and crystal daytime running LED with sequential turn indicators. While the Sigma variant doesn’t get fog lamps as standard, this customized Maruti Ignis gets LED fog lamps too.

The interior cabin of this modified Maruti Ignis, which is devoid of a basic infotainment system in the Sigma variant, gets a large rectangular Android infotainment system, complete with JBL-sourced speakers at both front and rear. The customized brown artificial leather seat covers go well with the otherwise all-black cabin. Other additional accessories here include remote controlled ambient lights and 3D floor mats.

The Maruti-Suzuki S-Presso embodies the formula of a successful car in the micro-SUV segment. The segment which is a new found love for many Indian buyers. The intention this time around was to make the SUV segment more accessible to customers. Prices for the car start at INR 3.71 lakh for the STD variant and goes up to INR 5.14 lakh (ex-showroom) for the VXi (O) CNG version.

It’s top-rung VXi plus trim gets manual air conditioning, front-only power windows, a touchscreen multimedia system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, cup and bottle holders upfront. It also gets steering mounted controls for audio and Bluetooth telephony. However, it misses out on a lock-unlock button, a rear wash-wipe and a dimming feature on the interior rear view mirror. The Maruti S-Presso is powered by the same K10 engine that powered the Alto K10, and essentially replaced the Alto K10 in India. The engine comes is BS-VI compliant, produces 64 bhp and 90 Nm of torque. Transmission duties are taken care of by a 5-speed manual transmission as standard. There’s also an AMT on offer.

Maruti Suzuki Celerio

Price – INR 4.41 Lakh

Another litre-class product from Maruti-Suzuki’s extensive stable is the Celerio hatchback. The car promises to be a more youthful version of the Wagon R with a curvy design and a funky cabin. However, unlike the Maruti Wagon R, the Celerio hasn’t managed to attract many buyers.

It is offered with only a 1.0-litre engine but has a CNG option as well for those looking for better mileage from the petrol motor. Maruti Suzuki Wagon R

The Maruti-Suzuki Wagon R has been one of the most popular badges in country for the past 2 decades. The car has had plenty of positives that have worked in its favour over the years. It was easy to get in and out of, had an airy cabin and a versatile interior made it quite practical. In its new generation version, Maruti has tried to build on these strengths and address the old car's weaknesses.

The new-gen Wagon R comes with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system that dominates proceedings. It’s a brand-new unit and it features Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. With the new SmartPlay studio, you also get offline navigation and many more features. The new Wagon R comes with two engine options. Last on our list, is the Maruti-Suzuki Ignis premium hatchback. It retails through Maruti's upmarket NEXA range of dealerships and not its regular Maruti Suzuki Arena dealerships, unlike all the cars mentioned above. This also means that it is the most affordable NEXA car you can buy in India, with a starting price tag of INR 4.89 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Ignis was launched as a unique offering in India with a tall-boy design, wide dimension, aeroplane-style toggle switches and lots of cabin space to entice young buyers. More than a budget offering, Maruti refers to the Ignis as a lifestyle product. The car gets a 1.2-litre petrol engine in the same state of tune as the Swift and Baleno. It produces 84bhp and 113 Nm torque. However, the Ignis hasn't managed to be as successful as the rest of the Maruti's line-up, despite a competitive price tag.

Datsun redi-GO

The Datsun redi-GO is not only the smallest car from the Japanese car maker’s lineup in India, but is also the least priced car in Indian car market. With a starting price of INR 2.83 lakh, the Datsun redi-GO holds the title of the most affordable car in India.

The Datsun redi-GO is available with a choice of two petrol engine options – a 0.8-litre three cylinder petrol (54 PS/72 Nm) and a 1.0-litre three cylinder petrol engine (68 PS/91 Nm). While a 5-speed manual gearbox is common to both the engines, the 1.0-litre variants can be had with an optional 5-speed AMT.

Renault Kwid

Bringing the SUV revolution to entry level compact cars with its raised stance and rugged styling bits, the Renault Kwid has appealed a lot of masses ever since its launch in 2015. The compact hatchback was given its first midlife facelift with fresh new cabin and styling updates at the front, and is available with a starting price point of INR 2.92 lakh.

The Renault Kwid shares both of its powertrain options with the Datsun redi-GO mentioned above – a 0.8-litre three cylinder petrol (54 PS/72 Nm) and a 1.0-litre three cylinder petrol engine (68 PS/91 Nm). Like in the redi-GO, both the engines get paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox, with the 1.0-litre variants getting a 5-speed AMT as well.

Maruti Alto

Ever since its inception almost two decades ago, the Maruti Alto has been the torch bearer of Maruti Suzuki in India, by consistently being one of the highest selling cars in the Indian car market. The key aspects of the success of Maruti Alto happens to be its low maintenance costs, high fuel efficiency and a low starting price point, which currently starts at INR 2.95 lakh.

Maruti Celerio

The Maruti Celerio might be a bit too long in the tooth now, especially with newer products from other car makers and Maruti Suzuki itself. However, the hatchback still holds its candle among others with its practical and spacious cabin and ease of driving – not to forget it was this car which brought the revolution of AMTs in India.

The Maruti Celerio is currently available with the 1.0-litre three cylinder K10 petrol engine (68 PS/90 Nm), which is being offered with both 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT gearboxes. Currently, the prices for the Maruti Celerio commence at INR 4.41 lakh.

Maruti WagonR

Like the Maruti Alto, the Maruti WagonR too has been a highly successful model for the car maker since last two decades, and has seen multiple generations climbing the sales charts consistently. The Maruti WagonR is currently in its third generation version and even today is a strong brand when it comes to practicality and frugality.

The current generation of Maruti WagonR gets two engine options – a 1.0-litre three cylinder petrol motor (68 PS/90 Nm) and 1.2-litre three cylinder engine (83 PS/113 Nm) – with both the engines getting both the options of a 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT gearboxes. The Maruti WagonR starts at a price of INR 4.46 lakh.

Hyundai Santro

The most affordable car from the Hyundai’s stable in India, the Hyundai Santro too is one of the most reputed and oldest sub-brands in the Indian car market. The original tall boy hatchback from Hyundai was resurrected in 2018 and is currently in its third generation version.

The Hyundai Santro has a starting price point of INR 4.58 lakh, and gets a 1.1-litre four cylinder petrol engine. The engine, which is capable of making 69 PS of power and 99 Nm of torque, has been made available with both 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT gearboxes.

Tata Tiago

The Tata Tiago came at the very right moment when Tata Motors was waiting for that one right product which can turn the tables in its favour. With segment best build quality and contemporary appeal, the Tata Tiago soon became a hot favorite, especially among the urban youth customers.

The Tata Tiago got its first facelift in 2020, which saw the omission of diesel variants, and now soldiers on the 1.2-litre three cylinder petrol motor. The Maruti Ignis gets a 1.2-litre four cylinder petrol engine under its hood, which makes 83 PS of power and 113 Nm of torque, and can be had either with a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT gearbox.

Maruti Celerio X

Before the S-Presso, Maruti tried to cash in the rising interest of crossover hatchbacks with the Celerio X, which is basically a more rugged looking version of the Maruti Celerio with added body cladding, rear skid plate and bulky looking fog lamp inserts.

With a starting price point of INR 4.90 lakh, the Maruti Celerio X shares its 1.0-litre three cylinder petrol engine (68 PS/90 Nm) as well as transmission options of a 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT gearboxes with the Maruti Celerio.

The 2020 Maruti Ignis features a new SUV-inspired design with a more imposing front fascia and a wider rear appearance. The facelifted car has new bumpers with faux skid plates, new radiator grille with U-shaped motif and a rear spoiler. It is available in two new single-tone colour options - Lucent Orange and Turquoise Blue - and three new dual-tone colour options - Nexa Blue with Black, Lucent Orange with black roof and Nexa blue with silver roof.

The interior of the 2020 Maruti Ignis is also slightly new. It comes with a new fabric seat upholstery and the new, 7-inch SmartPlay studio touchscreen infotainment system.

The 2020 Maruti Ignis measures 3,700 mm in length, 1,690 mm in width and 1,595 mm in height. It has a 2,435 mm wheelbase, and it offers a boot space of 260 litres. Under the hood, there’s the new, BS-VI compliant K12M 1.2-litre VVT petrol engine which can be had with a 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed automated manual transmission.

The updated naturally aspirated four-cylinder mill produces 61 kW (82.94 PS) at 6,000 rpm and 113 Nm of torque at 4,200 rpm. Regardless of which transmission it is had with, it returns a fuel economy of 20.89 km/l. Interestingly, the output figures and the fuel economy rating are the same as those of the BS-IV version.

Like the old Maruti Ignis, the new Maruti Ignis is sold in Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha trims. In all, there are seven configurations customers can choose from. Dual-tone paint schemes are available in the Zeta and Alpha trims for an additional cost of INR 13,000.

The 2020 Maruti Ignis has been unveiled in India at Auto Expo 2020. The facelifted Maruti Ignis is available to pre-book now and will be launched later this month.

The 2020 Maruti Ignis features a newly designed front grille with U-shaped motif, a fresh front bumper with a skid plate detailing and vertical fog lamp housings at the front. These changes are aimed at making the 2020 Maruti Ignis look more SUV-like.

On the sides, the 15-inch black alloy wheels carry the same design as those of the old Maruti Ignis. At the rear, the most noticeable change, which isn’t a big one, is a more attractive bumper with a silver finish to mimic a skid plate.

Interior changes in the 2020 Maruti Ignis are limited. The overall look is no different from that of the old model. The refreshed model comes with new seat fabric. Also new is the company’s latest, 7-inch SmartPlay Studio touchscreen infotainment system with onboard navigation with live traffic, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and more.

Maruti Suzuki is offering two premium customisation options for the new Ignis - Acropolis and Scorcher theme. The company has also introduced Lucent Orange and Turquoise Blue exterior colour choices. There are three new dual-tone paint options as well, namely Nexa Blue with Black, Lucent Orange with Black roof and Nexa Blue with Silver roof.

Like the old Maruti Ignis, the new Maruti Ignis mounts the K12M 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 61 kW (82.94 PS) and 113 Nm of torque. However, unlike the engine of the old model, the engine of the new model is BS-VI compliant. The transmission choices are the same as those of the old model: 5-speed manual and 5-speed automated manual. The fuel economy rating of the new model is yet to be revealed.

The 2020 Maruti Ignis (facelift) is likely already on its way to dealerships now.

The Maruti Ignis isn't a hot-selling car from the Gurugram-based automaker, but the company hopes to boost its sales with this mid-cycle makeover. The facelifted Ignis is going to feature a new, Vitara Brezza-inspired radiator grille flaunting new U-shaped chrome inserts, new front bumper with vertical fog lamp housing and a faux skid plate.

On the sides, the 15-inch black alloy wheels are the same as those of the pre-facelift Ignis. The rear-end changes will include redesigned tail lamps with LED inserts, new bumper and a skid plate. Overall, the changes will make the Ignis enhance its toughness and heighten up its SUV-like styling.

In other updates, Maruti Suzuki has confirmed a total of 17 models for Auto Expo 2020. The star of the show will include vehicles such as Futuro-e concept, Suzuki Swift Hybrid (Japan-spec) and facelifted Vitara Brezza and much more.

While models like the Maruti Futuro-e SUV-coupé concept, facelifted Vitara Brezza and 2020 Ignis were already certain for the Auto Expo 2020 debut, the automaker has also confirmed that it will also display the Japanese-spec Swift Hybrid at the show. Moreover, its remaining model line-up will comprise Maruti’s all-petrol offerings including the Celerio, S-Presso, Wagon R, Swift, Dzire, Baleno, Ertiga, S-Cross, Ciaz S and XL6.

The announced models for Auto Expo 2020 will reportedly include the fourth-gen Jimny as well, a model that will make it to our market in a 5-door version probably in 2021 or 2022.

The Maruti Futuro-e SUV-coupé concept will, in fact, be the star of the show as it will showcase a new design language for the future utility vehicles and will be turned into a production model. You can read about what's expected from the production Maruti Futuro-e in our special story.

As for the Suzuki Swift Hybrid, it delivers an incredible fuel economy (JC08 cycle) of 32.0 km/l. The full-hybrid variant uses the same K12C 1.2L N/A petrol engine (91 PS/118 Nm) as the standard variant, but with electric assistance from the PB05A motor (13.6 PS/30 Nm). A 5-speed automated manual transmission sends drive to the front wheels.

There is also a mild-hybrid version of the Swift available in Japan, which returns 27.4 km/L of fuel-efficiency. While a full-hybrid variant is unlikely to be launched in India, a mild-hybrid variant is something Maruti Suzuki would be interested in with the discontinuation of the D13A 1.3L diesel engine of the standard variant.

While the Ignis isn't exactly a hot-seller from Maruti Suzuki, the company expects to grow its sales with a mid-cycle makeover. This update will freshen up the styling, especially at the front. Launched in India in January 2017, the Maruti Ignis completed its 1 lakh sales milestone nearly two and a half year later in May 2019. With the facelift, Maruti Suzuki is expecting to enhance its tough styling and boost its sales.

The 2020 Maruti Ignis features a refreshed front fascia with new U-shaped inserts on its main radiator grille, a look that has been clearly designed on the same lines as the Maruti Vitara Brezza's snout and a tweaked bumper featuring a silver lip treatment (also seemingly Maruti Vitara Brezza-inspired). Other than that, the round fog lamps sit in a new vertical box-shaped housing with black inserts. Over the back, the new model has a more stylish bumper with a faux silver skid plate and vertically placed reflectors.

The new Maruti Ignis should have a couple of interior updates as well, which may be seen in the form of the new SmartPlay Studio infotainment system replacing the current SmartPlay infotainment system and new upholstery and interior colour schemes.
