The Maruti Celerio CNG costs INR 6.58 lakh (ex-showroom). In CNG mode, the engine produces 41.7 kW of max power at 5300 rpm and 82.1 Nm of peak torque at 3400 rpm.

The new Maruti Celerio is powered by the next-gen K-series, dual-jet, dual VVT engine that features the idle start-stop function. The upcoming hatchback will also have all-new styling, design and energetic interior. Maruti Suzuki will also offer a host of safety features along with segment-first comfort and convenience features.

Carrying forward Maruti Suzuki’s new design language, the new Celerio with 3D organic sculpted design and with dynamic characters creates an unmistakable design impression. The front fascia sports an all-new radiant grill with sharp chrome accents combined with an aggressive headlamp that gives it a signature look.

Reports say that these new Maruti Celerio spy images have been captured at the car’s promotional campaigns. The upcoming model is seen in two colours - red and blue - with black alloy wheels that add to the overall visual appeal. This tells us that the new Celerio will be available in at least these two paint schemes. Maruti Suzuki is expected to offer a bunch of more eye-catching liveries with its latest product.

We can also see in the images that the design of the new Maruti Celerio is a major departure from that of the previous model which used to have a boxy shape. In the upcoming model, the company has followed a more rounded theme that is very much prominent in the pictures. It’s also being said that the new Celerio will have larger dimensions compared to its previous version. So expect to have a relatively spacious cabin space.

Based on the company’s Heartect platform, that’s also used in other models, the new Maruti Celerio has some design cues that remind us of the very popular Maruti Alto. For instance, the rounded headlamps and side profile of the new car are reminiscent of the Alto. However, elements like the sporty-looking alloy wheels, front and rear bumper with black inserts, and the front grille with a chrome accent suggest that the new Celerio would be a premium offering.

While Maruti remains tight-lipped about the engine options of the new Celerio, it’s being speculated that the new car would be offered with a 1.2L petrol motor producing 83 HP and a 1.0L 3-cylinder mill. The transmission options would include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT unit. Expect the new Maruti Celerio to start arriving at the dealerships in the near future.

In the above image, the rendered rear fascia of the Maruti Celerio looks quite appealing. It dons a clean design for the tailgate. Sadly, the loading lip seems high, and a pull-type latch can be seen for the trunk. Talking of the tail lamps, they get a C-shape glow pattern and are expected to be LED units. Also, an integrated spoiler can be seen on the rear facet.

Moving towards the bumper, it features some prominent creases along with reflectors and number plate housing. Furthermore, it gets a silver-finished chin that gives it a dual-tone effect. The new-gen Maruti Celerio will come with a rear wiper and defogger. In comparison to the outgoing model, the feature list will be longer on the upcoming model. It will include a touchscreen SmartPlay Studio infotainment unit, steering-mounted audio control, keyless entry & go, power-adjustable and foldable ORVMs and more.

From the front, the new-gen Celerio will get a redesigned face as well. With new swept-back headlamps in place, it will look more youthful than the boxy-ish model that is currently on sale. Also, the revised silhouette will attract new-age buyers too.

The new-gen Maruti Celerio will continue to source power from the 1.0L 3-pot petrol motor that produces 67 PS of peak power and 90 Nm of max torque. Interestingly, the new-gen model is speculated to be offered with the 1.2L K12 motor as well. It will put out 83 PS and 113 Nm of max outputs. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 5-speed AMT. For the prices, expect the all-new Celerio to start at around INR 4.70 lakh.

The latest spy shots of the next-gen Maruti Celerio have been captured in Gurugram. It can be clearly seen that the test mule is heavily disguised. However, we can still figure out a few key elements of the new car.

For example, the overall design of the next-gen Maruti Celerio would be tweaked with more rounded curves. We can also spot the new wheels which have a somewhat sportier design. At the rear, Maruti would also use reworked bumper and new taillights that would impart a more modern look. The spy shots also reveal that there would be a rear wiper, too, which Maruti is likely to provide in the car’s higher variants. We also get to have a glimpse at the headlight of the next-gen Maruti Celerio from the side. They appear to be all-new units that follow the whole rounded-off design language.

Thanks to the previous spy pictures, we do know what the new Celerio would look like from the rear. In fact, IndiaAutosBlog’s in-house digital artist Shoeb R. Kalania has also created a rendering of the same.

The next-gen Maruti Celerio is likely to borrow several interior features from the current Maruti Wagon R. As for the engine options, there would be a 1.0L petrol motor with 67PS of max power and 90Nm of peak torque. Maruti is also expected to slap in a bigger and more powerful 1.2L engine with 81PS and 113Nm. For the transmission, there would be two choices - a 5-speed MT and a 5-speed AMT.

While the silhouette largely remains the same, the new Celerio is expected to come with the HEARTECT platform which means it will grow in size. However, its upright stance will be remain alongside a few changes like a new pair of headlights and taillights. According to the render, the side profile looks a bit like S-Presso, giving it a tall-boy look. The rising belt-line, thick C-pillar and roof-mounted rear spoiler gives the Celerio a sporty stance. From the looks of it, both the front and rear bumpers will be designed to match the overall modern look. Apart from the growth in size, we are still in the dark regarding the exact details about the car.

Alongside the exteriors, Maruti-Suzuki will also tweak the car’s interiors with new features like a SmartPlay Studio touchscreen infotainment system, new instrument cluster and more. The current list of features include key-less entry, power windows, manual HVAC and steering mounted controls. In terms of safety, the car is expected to come with dual-front airbags, ABS with EBD, high-speed alert system, front seatbelt reminder and reverse parking sensors.

In terms of powertrain options, the next-gen Celerio is expected to come with two engine options like the current-gen Wagon R. This means one can expect a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine putting out 68 hp and a 1.2-litre K-Series petrol engine that delivers 83 hp. The car is most likely to continue with the current transmission options that include a 5-speed manual unit and an AMT. Shoeb's renderings are based on the multiple spy shots that had mostly captured the rear end of the upcoming car. As per the digital design, the next-gen Celerio will get noticeable visible changes including a new tail lamp design, which is more squarish as compared to that of the current model, a low profile to give the vehicle a sportier look, and a redesigned bumper with more prominent creases. The rest of the design remains largely the same. There are no renderings of the front and side profile, but Maruti Suzuki is expected to implement changes there as well.

Alongside the exteriors, Maruti Suzuki will also be updating the next-gen Celerio's interior that will come with latest features including SmartPlay Studio touchscreen infotainment system on higher variants. Also on offer would be a new digital-friendly instrument cluster that offers more information as against that of the current-gen model. In terms of safety, the car is expected to come with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, high-speed alert system, front seatbelt reminder and reverse parking sensor among others.

The second-gen Celerio will be based on Maruti Suzuki's Heartect platform and will grow in size with a longer wheelbase and wider cabin in comparison to the current-gen model. While we are still dark on details about the car, more of it will be revealed closer to the launch.

It’s top-rung VXi plus trim gets manual air conditioning, front-only power windows, a touchscreen multimedia system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, cup and bottle holders upfront. It also gets steering mounted controls for audio and Bluetooth telephony. However, it misses out on a lock-unlock button, a rear wash-wipe and a dimming feature on the interior rear view mirror. The Maruti S-Presso is powered by the same K10 engine that powered the Alto K10, and essentially replaced the Alto K10 in India. The engine comes is BS-VI compliant, produces 64 bhp and 90 Nm of torque. Transmission duties are taken care of by a 5-speed manual transmission as standard. There’s also an AMT on offer.

Maruti Suzuki Celerio

Price – INR 4.41 Lakh

Another litre-class product from Maruti-Suzuki’s extensive stable is the Celerio hatchback. The car promises to be a more youthful version of the Wagon R with a curvy design and a funky cabin. However, unlike the Maruti Wagon R, the Celerio hasn’t managed to attract many buyers.

Maruti Suzuki Wagon R

Price – INR 4.46 Lakh

The Maruti-Suzuki Wagon R has been one of the most popular badges in country for the past 2 decades. The car has had plenty of positives that have worked in its favour over the years. It was easy to get in and out of, had an airy cabin and a versatile interior made it quite practical. In its new generation version, Maruti has tried to build on these strengths and address the old car's weaknesses.

The new-gen Wagon R comes with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system that dominates proceedings. It’s a brand-new unit and it features Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It retails through Maruti's upmarket NEXA range of dealerships and not its regular Maruti Suzuki Arena dealerships, unlike all the cars mentioned above. This also means that it is the most affordable NEXA car you can buy in India, with a starting price tag of INR 4.89 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Ignis was launched as a unique offering in India with a tall-boy design, wide dimension, aeroplane-style toggle switches and lots of cabin space to entice young buyers. More than a budget offering, Maruti refers to the Ignis as a lifestyle product. The car gets a 1.2-litre petrol engine in the same state of tune as the Swift and Baleno. It produces 84bhp and 113 Nm torque. However, the Ignis hasn't managed to be as successful as the rest of the Maruti's line-up, despite a competitive price tag.

The Datsun redi-GO is not only the smallest car from the Japanese car maker’s lineup in India, but is also the least priced car in Indian car market. With a starting price of INR 2.83 lakh, the Datsun redi-GO holds the title of the most affordable car in India.

The Datsun redi-GO is available with a choice of two petrol engine options – a 0.8-litre three cylinder petrol (54 PS/72 Nm) and a 1.0-litre three cylinder petrol engine (68 PS/91 Nm). While a 5-speed manual gearbox is common to both the engines, the 1.0-litre variants can be had with an optional 5-speed AMT.

Renault Kwid

Bringing the SUV revolution to entry level compact cars with its raised stance and rugged styling bits, the Renault Kwid has appealed a lot of masses ever since its launch in 2015. The compact hatchback was given its first midlife facelift with fresh new cabin and styling updates at the front, and is available with a starting price point of INR 2.92 lakh.

The Maruti Celerio is currently available with the 1.0-litre three cylinder K10 petrol engine (68 PS/90 Nm), which is being offered with both 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT gearboxes. Currently, the prices for the Maruti Celerio commence at INR 4.41 lakh.

Maruti WagonR

Like the Maruti Alto, the Maruti WagonR too has been a highly successful model for the car maker since last two decades, and has seen multiple generations climbing the sales charts consistently. The Maruti WagonR is currently in its third generation version and even today is a strong brand when it comes to practicality and frugality.

The current generation of Maruti WagonR gets two engine options – a 1.0-litre three cylinder petrol motor (68 PS/90 Nm) and 1.2-litre three cylinder engine (83 PS/113 Nm) – with both the engines getting both the options of a 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT gearboxes. The Maruti WagonR starts at a price of INR 4.46 lakh.

Hyundai Santro

The most affordable car from the Hyundai’s stable in India, the Hyundai Santro too is one of the most reputed and oldest sub-brands in the Indian car market. The original tall boy hatchback from Hyundai was resurrected in 2018 and is currently in its third generation version.

The Hyundai Santro has a starting price point of INR 4.58 lakh, and gets a 1.1-litre four cylinder petrol engine. The engine, which is capable of making 69 PS of power and 99 Nm of torque, has been made available with both 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT gearboxes.

Tata Tiago

The Tata Tiago came at the very right moment when Tata Motors was waiting for that one right product which can turn the tables in its favour. With segment best build quality and contemporary appeal, the Tata Tiago soon became a hot favorite, especially among the urban youth customers.

The Tata Tiago got its first facelift in 2020, which saw the omission of diesel variants, and now soldiers on the 1.2-litre three cylinder petrol motor. The engine makes a healthy 86 PS of power and 113 Nm of torque, and is available with both 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT transmissions. The Tiago is the most affordable car from Tata, the prices of which start at INR 4.60 lakh.

Maruti Ignis

Maruti Suzuki has been the flag bearer of compact practical hatchbacks and the most affordable product from its NEXA sub brand of premium cars too ends up in this list. Known for its quirky styling and chic urban appeal, the Maruti Ignis carries a starting price point of INR 4.89 lakh.

The Maruti Ignis gets a 1.2-litre four cylinder petrol engine under its hood, which makes 83 PS of power and 113 Nm of torque, and can be had either with a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT gearbox.

Maruti Celerio X

Before the S-Presso, Maruti tried to cash in the rising interest of crossover hatchbacks with the Celerio X, which is basically a more rugged looking version of the Maruti Celerio with added body cladding, rear skid plate and bulky looking fog lamp inserts.

With a starting price point of INR 4.90 lakh, the Maruti Celerio X shares its 1.0-litre three cylinder petrol engine (68 PS/90 Nm) as well as transmission options of a 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT gearboxes with the Maruti Celerio.

The specifications of the BS6 Maruti Celerio CNG, and its taxi variant, the BS6 Maruti Tour H2, haven’t been released yet. Their BS4 versions use the K10B 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine that produces 50 kW (67.98 PS) and 90 Nm of torque running on petrol and 43.5 kW (59.14 PS) and 78 Nm of torque running on CNG. A 5-speed manual transmission is standard. The petrol and CNG tanks have a capacity of 35 litres and 60 litres respectively. These figures should apply to the BS6 versions as well.

The only specification we expect to be different in the BS6 Maruti Celerio CNG and BS6 Maruti Tour H2 CNG is the fuel economy rating. For reference, the BS4 versions return a mileage of 31.76 km/kg (CNG). The mileage of the BS6 cars is expected to be a little lower.

New Datsun redi-GO facelift

Among all the upcoming budget cars in India 2021, the facelifted Datsun redi-GO will be the first car to be launched in India anytime soon. The new Datsun redi-Go's marketing material has leaked, revealing that the car has a thoroughly revised front face with a larger grille, sleeker and bigger L-shaped LED DRLs, LED fog lamps and sleeker headlamps. The facelifted car looks much bolder.

There are very few changes to the sides and rear of the Datsun redi-Go, which include roof rails, snazzier looking wheel caps and a Datsun badge below the mirrors.

The cabin of the Datsun redi-GO has been completely revamped with new dual-tone fabric upholstery and an all-new dashboard. There's new gunmetal trim across the width of the dashboard as well as in the lower centre console. There is a new centre console as well, which is bigger and houses an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The Datsun redi-GO now features a couple of new features like internally adjustable mirrors and front door trim fabric.

The engine options for the new Datsun redi-Go are expected to be the same as before - 0.8-litre petrol (54 PS/72 Nm) and 1.0-litre petrol (68 PS/91 Nm). Similarly, 5-speed manual and 5-speed automated manual (available with only the 1.0-litre engine) should be the transmission choices. Datsun Redi-Go is one of the new cars under 5 lakh in India 2021.

Tata HBX (Tata Hornbill/Tata X445)

Expected prices: INR 5 lakh - 8 lakh

Touted to be the next big thing from Tata Motors in India after the recently launched Altroz premium hatchback, the HBX concept's production version will be the Indian carmaker’s take on micro-SUVs like the Mahindra KUV100 and Maruti Ignis. The concept was showcased at Auto Expo 2020.

To be positioned between the Tiago and Altroz, the Tata HBX will have an upright stance and styling derived from new generation Tata cars. It will feature a Harrier-inspired front fascia with sleek daytime running LEDs and lower positioned headlamps. Skid plates and side body cladding across the length will further add to its tough styling. Its rear doors will have the Altroz-like rear door handles recessed in the C-pillar.

On the inside, the Tata HBX will share much of its elements with the Altroz, including the flat bottom multi-functional steering wheel, part digital instrument console and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The dashboard will have rounded rectangular AC vents and the controls for the automatic climate control system could be positioned much lower in the centre console than usual.

The Tata HBX is expected to employ the 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine of the Tata Tiago. This engine makes 86 PS of power and 113 Nm of torque and is offered with 5-speed manual and 5-speed automated manual transmission choices.

2021 Maruti Celerio (Maruti YNC)

Expected prices: INR 4.80 lakh - 6 lakh

Currently one of the oldest models in Maruti Suzuki’s lineup in India, the Maruti Celerio was upgraded to BS-6 norms without any significant change to the powertrain and design. It is believed that Maruti is working on an all-new Celerio that could be in showrooms this Diwali.

No confirmed details about the Maruti YNC are available yet. Expect it to have an all-new exterior and interior, replete with LED DRLs, alloy wheels, touchscreen infotainment system and other latest trending features that are common in the segment. In all likeliness, it will be based on the Heartect platform and be available with 1.0-litre petrol and petrol-CNG engines linked and 5-speed manual and 5-speed automated manual transmissions.

Hyundai micro-SUV (Hyundai AX)

Expected prices: INR 4 - 7 lakh

Following Tata Motors this year, Hyundai will launch its micro-SUV in 2021. The South Korean automaker calls it the 'AX' internally.

The Hyundai AX is believed to be based on the K1 platform of the Hyundai Santro. In typical Hyundai fashion, this new hatchback is expected to set new trends of design and equipment in the segment.

In terms of powertrain, as the Hyundai AX is expected to be positioned as a budget model, it is likely that it will borrow the 1.1-litre (69 PS/99 Nm) engine of the Santro, which currently is the smallest engine in Hyundai’s lineup in India.

2021 Hyundai Santro facelift

Expected prices: INR 4.80 - 6 lakh

The new-age Santro might not have turned out to be as great a success story as Hyundai had expected. To turn the tables in its favour, Hyundai will likely be giving it a mild makeover by 2021.

While there are no details about the new Hyundai Santro facelift available for the time being, it is believed to have some tweaks to its front fascia, with features like daytime running LEDs and alloy wheels. The interior might also include a couple of new features while having the same dashboard design.

Given that the 1.1-litre four-cylinder petrol engine (69 PS/99 Nm) of the Hyundai Santro was recently upgraded to BS6 norms, it is safe to assume that it will be retained post facelift. The 5-speed manual and 5-speed automated manual transmissions should also be retained.

1. 2020 Maruti Swift

Suzuki had unveiled the third-gen Swift in December 2016. Maruti Suzuki launched it in India in February 2018. In the fourth quarter of the next fiscal (January-March 2021), a facelifted Swift could be launched in India. The new hatchback could have a design similar to that of the new DZire.

The Maruti Swift will likely get revisions to its front grille, front bumper design and fog lamps. The interior design would be the same as now, though. The SmartPlay Studio touchscreen infotainment system should be introduced with the mid-cycle refresh.

The facelifted Maruti Dzire is expected to be blessed with the same 1.2-litre Dualjet petrol engine as the facelifted Maruti Dzire. It may miss out on the Smart Hybrid tech of the facelifted Baleno in order to keep costs in check. This engine produces a maximum power output of 90 PS and a peak torque output of 113 Nm. 5-speed manual and automated manual should be the transmission options.

2. 2020 Hyundai i20

Following the all-new, 2020 Creta at the end of FY 2019-20, Hyundai's next big launch will be the all-new, 2020 i20. The company reportedly plans to launch the premium hatchback in June. Incorporating a completely new design language, the Mk3 i20 looks much more futuristic and sharper. It features angular LED headlamps and tail lamps.

The cabin has been completely redone with a new dashboard, the four-spoke steering wheel from the all-new Creta and a fully digital instrument console. The Honda City will be retaining the 1.5-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines. However, the petrol engine will now produce a higher power output of 121 PS, while the diesel engine may continue to make 100 PS. For the first time, a CVT option will be available in the diesel variants as well.

4. 2021 Maruti Celerio (Maruti YNC)

While the current Maruti Celerio was upgraded to BS6 in January, it will be replaced by the next-gen Maruti Celerio (codename: Maruti YNC) towards the end of the calendar year.

The 2021 Maruti Celerio is expected to be bigger, have a new-age design and be equipped with features like daytime running LEDs and a modern touchscreen infotainment system.

Currently, the Maruti Celerio is available with a 1.0-litre BS6-compliant 68 PS petrol engine. The Maruti Celerio is credited for pioneering the revolutionary AMT technology in the Indian market, which will be retained along with the standard 5-speed manual gearbox.

5. 2020 Skoda Octavia

Skoda showcased its upcoming models for India with a lot of fanfare at Auto Expo 2020, including the Vision IN concept, the Karoq, the Rapid TSI and the Octavia RS 245. However, one key model which was missing from Skoda’s stand was the new generation Octavia.

Skoda plans to launch the 2020 Octavia in India towards the end of 2020 in India.

The new Skoda Octavia has a bigger body, a sleeker and sharper front comprising a wider grille, more angular all-LED headlamps, and a more aggressively styled rear with angular tail lamps. The all-new Skoda Octavia is longer and wider than the model it replaces.

On the inside too, Skoda has made substantial changes in the form of an all-new dashboard, a new unique two-spoke steering wheel, a full TFT instrument console and a bigger touchscreen infotainment system, with a cleaner looking layout.

Talking about the latter aspect, the fuel efficiency figures have always been a big decision making aspect while buying a new car for years now. Maruti Suzuki has always been the leader in this area, but the new entrants have made the competition interesting by giving high fuel efficiencies.

Following is a list of the top five most fuel-efficient cars which are priced from under INR 5 lakh (ex-showroom):-

Renault Kwid

The smallest offering in Renault India’s lineup, the Kwid, created some serious ripples when it was launched back in 2015. Apart from offering SUV-ish styling as well as a first-in-class touchscreen infotainment system, another aspect which drew the attention of a number of people was its fuel efficiency. With an ARAI rated fuel efficiency of 25.17 km/l from its 0.8-litre three-cylinder 54 PS engine, the Renault Kwid currently holds the title of being the most fuel-efficient petrol car in India right now.

Earlier this year, the Renault Kwid was given a mild update, which saw the inclusion of a couple of features like standard reverse parking sensors, Android Auto, Apple Carplay and reverse parking camera in the touchscreen infotainment system as and a rear centre armrest. The fuel efficiency rating above is of the 5-speed manual variant; the Kwid being is offered with a 5-speed AMT as an option as well. Prices start at INR 2.76 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), which also makes it the most affordable car in this list.

Maruti Alto K10

While the 800 cc Maruti Alto is expected to be the most fuel-efficient car from the manufacturer’s list, it is the more powerful 1,000 cc Maruti Alto K10 which, surprisingly, offers higher fuel economy. The Maruti Alto K10, which is powered by a 1.0-litre three-cylinder 69 PS engine, returns a fuel economy of 23.95 km/l, making it the most fuel-efficient petrol car from India’s no.1 carmaker.

Maruti Suzuki offers the Alto K10 with the options of 5-speed MT and 5-speed AMT. The fuel economy rating is the same for both MT and AMT configurations. As compared to the bare bones 800 cc Alto, the Alto K10 offers slightly plusher interiors, more powerful engine and more upmarket exterior design. Maruti Suzuki recently updated the Alto K10 with the essential safety features like reverse parking sensors, seat belt reminder and high speed alert as standard. However, its engine is yet to receive the BS-6 treatment, an update which the 800 cc Alto has already got. The Maruti Alto 800 is priced from INR 2.94 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), while the Maruti Alto K10 is priced from INR 3.65 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

Tata Tiago

Easily the most well-built and upmarket car in this list, the Tata Tiago feels a notch above its segment, owing to its slightly big car feel and strong build quality. The Tata Tiago, in its petrol avatar, has a 1.2-litre three cylinder 85PS petrol engine under its hood, which returns an ARAI rated fuel efficiency of 23.84 km/l.

With a starting price of INR 4.40 lakh (ex-showroom), the Tata Tiago is available in a wide range of variants, with the higher variants getting premium features like a touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, projector headlamps and machined alloy wheels. The claimed fuel efficiency is the same irrespective of the transmission option selected – 5-speed manual or 5-speed automated manual.

Maruti Celerio

The Maruti Celerio is one of the lowest selling and not so popular models in Maruti Suzuki’s lineup. However, the compact hatchback is very practical for the amount of space and fuel efficiency it has on offer. The Maruti Celerio is powered by the same 69 PS 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine as the Alto K10. However, the higher kerb weight results in a slightly lower fuel economy of 23.1 km/l.

The Maruti Celerio can be termed as a revolutionary car for the Indian market, as it was the first car in the country available with an AMT, which has now become the new face of an automatic transmission for budget cars in the nation. Positioned between the Alto K10 and WagonR in Maruti Suzuki’s entry-level K10 lineup, the Celerio is priced from INR 4.31 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

Datsun redi-GO 1.0 AMT

The Datsun redi-GO shares both of its 0.8-litre and 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engines with the Renault Kwid. However, both the engines are tuned differently for the Datsun redi-GO, which is why their fuel efficiencies differ as well. The 1.0-litre 69 PS engine is can be had with a 5-speed MT and or a 5-speed AMT. The 54 PS 0.8-litre engine is offered with only a 5-speed MT. The fuel economy rating of the Datsun redi-GO is 22.7 km/l (0.8L engine-MT)/22.5 km/l (1.0L engine-MT)/23 km/l (1.0L engine-AMT).

The most affordable and smallest model in Datsun India’s portfolio, the redi-GO, hasn’t been a strong seller despite belonging to volume-oriented segment. However, with its compact dimensions, raised stance and cute and aerodynamic styling, it is one good option for urban usage. Prices start at INR 2.80 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

Maruti Suzuki unveiled and launched the Celerio as the successor to the A-Star in February 2014. The company gave the global entry-level model a facelift in October 2017. Since launch, it has sold nearly 4.7 lakh units of this car.

The Maruti Celerio measures 3,695 mm in length, 1,600 mm in width and 1,560 mm in height. It has a 2,425 mm wheelbase. Under the hood, it has the K10B 1.0-litre naturally aspirated three-cylinder engine. This engine is available in petrol and petrol-CNG versions. Running on petrol, it produces 68 PS at 6,000 rpm and 90 Nm of torque at 3,500 rpm. Running on CNG, the maximum power and maximum torque, achieved at the same respective engine speed, reduce to 59 PS and 78 Nm respectively.

The petrol version of the K10B engine is available with a standard 5-speed manual transmission and an optional 5-speed automated manual transmission. The petrol-CNG version is available with only a 5-speed manual transmission. 20% of total Celerio sales are of a configuration with the petrol-CNG engine. Nearly 31% customers have opted for a configuration with the petrol engine and the automated manual transmission.

Maruti Suzuki offers the Celerio in LXI, Tour H2, VXI and ZXI grades, along with an (O) option pack for all the grades except the Tour H2. The top-of-the-line ZXI grade contributes over 52% of the sales. Prices of the Celerio start at INR 4,31,288* and go up to INR 5,48,278*.
