Terrafirma Motors Corporation (TMC), part of the Columbian Group of Companies, will be the exclusive assembler and distributor of Hero products in the Philippines. The partnership, announced in October 2022, features a state-of-the-art assembly unit and parts warehouse in Laguna, with an annual capacity of over 150,000 units.

The facility will produce Hero’s top models, including the Xpulse 200 4V, Hunk 160R 4V, and Xoom 110 scooter. Retail operations have also commenced, offering the Xpulse 200 4V at PHP 140,000, the Hunk 160R 4V at PHP 99,900, and the Xoom 110 at PHP 69,900, all with a 2-year or 24,000-kilometer warranty.

Hero and TMC have set up a comprehensive retail network with over 350 customer touchpoints, aiming for rapid expansion by year-end.

Hero MotoCorp has announced Motosport SA as its partner in Costa Rica – a key market in Central America. As the exclusive distributor for the sale and service of Hero MotoCorp motorcycles and scooters in the country, Motosport SA will play a key role in the rapid expansion of Hero’s network in Costa Rica.

Established in 2002, Motosport SA has more than two decades of expertise in the motorcycle industry, with a sales, service and parts network spanning across the entire country. The phase-wise expansion plan has begun with the inauguration of the first Exclusive Hero MotoCorp Store in the Uruca, which is an important industrial and commercial area of San José. The store will display 13 motorcycles across segments and have separate spare-parts and workshop areas. Subsequently, two more stores will be opened in Alajuela and Paseo Colon.

Hero MotoCorp plans to have a distinct product line-up of five models in the country including sports & off-road motorcycles and scooters. Globally popular motorcycles such as the Hero Xpulse 200 Advance and Hero Hunk 160R will be introduced with refreshed styling. The portfolio will also include Hunk 150, Xpulse 200T and Dash 125.

Hero MotoCorp and Motosport SA are confident that the new design and technology of the Hero motorcycles are very relevant to the market. With the accessible price points of the motorcycles and their world-class technology and features, brand Hero will soon carve out a significant share in the Costa Rica market.

The price revision has been necessitated mainly due to cost increases on account of OBD 2 transition. Hero MotoCorp will continue to provide innovative financing solutions in order to cushion the impact on the customers.

The price revision will be around 2% and the exact quantum of increase will vary by specific models and markets.

The oil-cooled engine makes 19.1 PS @ at 8500 RPM and torque of 17.3 Nm @ 6500rpm. It comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox.

The updated design of the new XPulse 200T 4V embraces the passion for relaxed travel on two wheels. The neo-retro styling, and bolder graphics combined with unique color schemes exude elegance and an exclusive classic character. Distinctive features such as circular full-LED headlamps with chrome ring and LED position lamps which are lowered by 20mm enhance the proportions of the vehicle.

The USB charger makes it easier for a rider to stay connected while riding, while the 276mm front and 220mm rear petal disc brakes ensure that the rider is always in complete control and confident of the stopping power.

The Hero Xpulse 200T 4V comes in three exciting new color options, each of which skillfully showcases the varying character traits of the motorcycle – Sports Red, Matt Funk Lime Yellow and Matt Shield Gold.

Set up at the Big Rock Dirt Park on the outskirts of Bengaluru, the state-of-the-art Xpulse Xperience Centre with curated biking tracks and infrastructure is designed to provide an unmatched off-road bike training experience to Xpulse 200 4V owners and enthusiasts. Hero MotoCorp will set up more Xpulse Xperience Centres in other cities across the country in a phased manner.

The Xpulse Xperience Centre will have renowned trainers and a well-rounded curriculum focused on building the skills, knowledge and personality required to be an expert off-road biker. At the first center in Bengaluru, participants will have the prized opportunity to be trained by the Indian ace, CS Santosh.

The facility complies with all safety norms as prescribed by the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI), and has designated marshals and the necessary medical infrastructure as per the guidelines.

The Xpulse Xperience Centre offers three training programs – Basic: Start the Xpulse, Intermediate: Feel the Xpulse, Advanced: Conquer the Xpulse. Spread over varying time durations, the programs will provide riding skills of increasing difficulty levels, depending on the program chosen by the participant.

Participants will be coached on key riding skills like - Off-Road setup, Body Posture, Slalom and Braking, Incline & Decline, Fallen Bike Recovery, Balance Points, Garage Turns, Brake Slide, Walk the Bike and more.

Signaling a steady sequential growth, Hero MotoCorp has sold 18,35,773 units of motorcycles and scooters so far (April-July) in FY’23. This is a double-digit growth of 24.1% over the corresponding period of FY’22, when the Company had sold 14,78,905 units.

The normal monsoon in most parts of the country, and the consequent agricultural harvest along with the upcoming festive season is expected to keep the sentiments positive and help build the momentum further.

In the first month of the second quarter, Hero MotoCorp launched the exclusive Rally Edition of its widely popular motorcycle Xpulse 200 4V and the latest edition of the iconic Super Splendor in Canvas Black Edition, which comes with the triple promise of Super – Power, Super – Mileage and Super – Comfort.

In the month of June, the company announced Hero Dirt Biking Challenge (HDBC) - the first-of-its-kind pan-India talent-hunt program by an OEM (original equipment manufacturer). HDBC is aimed at providing budding riders, enthusiasts and amateurs the much-awaited platform who want to pursue their passion in off-road racing and make a name for themselves in the field.

Hero Xpulse 200 4V Rally Edition features a taller and fully-adjustable front suspension with 250mm travel and a fully-adjustable 10-step rear suspension with 220mm travel. The bike has a seat height of 885mm and comes equipped with handlebar risers. The rally parts increase the ground clearance to 270mm.

The motorcycle comes with robust 21" front and 18" rear spoke wheels fitted with dual-purpose tyres tuned for both on and off-road use. To ensure a trouble-free ride through the rocky and treacherous terrains, the bike is equipped with an aluminium skid plate that protects the engine, a toothed brake pedal for maximum grip and control, and an upswept exhaust that enables deep water crossing. This capable motorcycle remains lightweight with a kerb weight of 160kg.

Hero Xpulse 200 4V Rally Edition has been priced at Rs 1.52 lakh (ex-showroom). Interested customers can book one at the brand's online sales platform, eShop. The booking period will open from 12 pm on July 22 to 12 pm on July 29.

The Hero Dirt Biking Challenge is aimed at providing a much-awaited platform for budding riders, enthusiasts and amateurs who want to pursue their passion in off-road racing and make a name for themselves in the field.

Making it truly pan-national by spanning across the nook and corner of the country, the HDBC will reach as many as 45 cities to find India’s top amateur off-road riders. The winner and two runners-up will receive the popular Hero Xpulse 200 4V motorcycle and sponsorships contracts from Hero MotoCorp worth Rs. 20 lakh.

Further spreading its popularity among the youth, the HDBC will be telecast over MTV and streamed over Voot in the month of November 2022.

The boot camp will conclude with a race and the top 20 participants will then move for the finals to be held at the world-class Center of Innovation of Technology (CIT), Hero MotoCorp’s state-of-the-art R&D center in Jaipur. At CIT, the top riders will be trained and mentored by the Hero MotoSports Team Rally over five days before the final race to choose the eventual winner for the coveted prize.

The XCLAN platform will be the first official Hero Xpulse owners club that will provide a stage for owners of the Xpulse motorcycles to engage with each other, build their cohort, and develop camaraderie with budding and experienced riders.

The inaugural chapters will be rolled out in five cities across the country - Dehradun, Guwahati, Bengaluru, Cochin and Mumbai – and will be subsequently expanded to additional cities by the latter half of 2022.

An XCLAN membership will bring numerous exciting benefits to customers, including an onboarding kit, invitation to Chapter rides & rally events across India, complimentary Hero Goodlife Platinum Membership, and a network of passionate riders, at an all-inclusive annual price of Rs. 2,000 per rider.

So, the motorcycle in question is actually called the Sanya SY200GY. It’s manufactured by a Chinese company called Guangzhou Sanya Motorcycle Co Ltd. Although complete information about the two-wheeler isn’t available, we did find some key features and specs. For instance, powering this motorcycle is a 200cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine. The braking department comprises a disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the rear.

In terms of equipment, the Hero Xpulse 200’s Chinese cousin comes with golden USD front forks and a monoshock at the back to carry out the suspension duties. We can see in the pictures that the motorcycle also has pre-installed fork protectors. The company has also added knuckle guards which seem to have some sort of integrated lights, perhaps, DRLs.

Apart from that, the motorcycle has a front beak, LED side turn signals, a single-piece seat, a high-mounted exhaust, and a small rear rack. With the Hero Xpulse 200, we can get proper off-road tyres as a part of the official rally kit. However, it appears that such tyres are available with the Xpulse 200’s Chinese cousin as standard. The motorcycle also has a semi-digital instrument cluster which we think lacks any sort of Bluetooth connectivity.

As for the dimensions, the Sanya SY200GY is 2030mm long, 1150mm tall, and 830mm wide. It has a wheelbase of 1360mm and tips the scale at 128kg. The company says that this motorcycle is capable of achieving a top speed of around 90 kmph.

Converting the thought into a digital reality is an automotive artist known as “nomadic__16__design” on Instagram. The motorcycle that we see in the rendering flaunts Hero Karizma R’s fuel tank, headlamp, and front bikini fairing. The white base paint with green graphics looks neat. Above the headlamp is a decent-size windscreen. The handlebar with knuckle guards is from the Hero Xpulse 200.

Other parts that are taken from the Hero Xpulse 200 include the wheels, side panels, seat, exhaust, and swingarm. Even the suspension and braking setup have been carried forward from the dual-sport motorcycle. At the back, there’s a rear rack that could be used to mount soft luggage or even a hard case top box.

The engine in the rendering has been hidden behind, what seems to be, large fibre covers. Perhaps, the artist has tried to come up with something similar to the engine cowl that used to come with the Hero Karizma R. Going by the looks of the crankcase, we would say that this is the same 200cc single-cylinder engine of the Hero Xpulse 200 that produces 17.8bhp of max power at 8500rpm and 16.45Nm of peak torque at 6500rpm.

We’ve seen various riders installing hard case panniers and top box on Hero Xpulse 200 for long-distance touring. While they do have their own benefits, we can’t ignore the fact that they add a considerable amount of weight to the motorcycle. This not only impacts the bike’s handling characteristics but also the fuel economy. The alternative is to go for soft luggage options that are lightweight, easy to carry, and relatively less expensive.

We can see in the video uploaded by YouTuber the Toll Free Traveller that the owner of the Hero Xpulse 200 uses only 3 bags as his primary luggage. The first one is a 100% waterproof tail bag from a company called Enduristan. It’s known as the Enduristan Tornado 2L and has a capacity of 51L. It comes with a set of ROK straps that allows you to easily tie the bag down firmly.

The second bag that the rider uses is the ViaTerra POD that offers 12L of storage space. As you can see, it is much smaller in size than the tail bag and, thus, can be easily mounted on top of it. This is also a 100% waterproof bag and can be used to carry things that you want to be easily accessible. The third and final bag here is the Enduristan Sandstorm 4H tank bag. Again, this is also fully waterproof. It seems to have a quick and easy mounting mechanism.

The Hero Xpulse 200 owner also carries a tripod on his road trips. Since tripods are usually large and, hence, utilise a lot of space in your bags. A solution to that is to mount the tripod on top of the tail bag and use a bungee net to properly secure it.

We think that the overall touring luggage setup on this Hero Xpulse 200 is quite impressive and practical. It should prove to be more than enough to carry cargo for a long road trip. We can see in the rendering that the next-gen Hero Xpulse 200 features performance as well as visual updates. For instance, the digital portrait of the motorcycle flaunts a newly designed smoked LED headlamp with a horizontal LED DRL in the centre. It certainly enhances the aesthetic appeal of the dual-sport machine. Sitting just below the headlamp is a beak-type front fender. We also like the knuckle guards that add to the overall front look. However, we think the rearview mirrors could have been done better.

The next-gen Hero Xpulse 200 rendering also has fuel tank extensions that impart a bold look. We can see Xpulse branding on the fuel tank as well as on the rear cowl. A small rear carrier for carrying luggage can also be spotted. Abin Designs has also installed a different seat and routed the exhaust from the left side of the motorcycle.

The engine of the next-gen Hero Xpulse 200 appears to be the same 200cc single-cylinder unit that powers the current model. It features a bash plate and even a kick start. The suspension setup has been revised with a pair of high-end USD forks at the front. We reckon that the rear has a monoshock. The front disc brake has also been changed to improve the overall braking performance. As for the tyres, they are proper knobby units for handling serious off-road conditions.

The Hero Xpulse 200 Enduro rendering has been created by an automotive artist called “eka_custom_designs”. We can see in the picture that the motorcycle now features several new and revised parts that make it an enduro bike. For instance, the stock front telescopic forks have been replaced by high-performance USD forks. There’s a long beak placed right below the LED headlamp. It seems that the rear monoshock has been changed, too. With these alterations, the ground clearance of the motorcycle has increased.

We also notice that the Hero Xpulse 200 Enduro is using a different set of spoke wheels. These wheels are fitted with a set of knobbier tyres that would help tackle various off-road terrains. The braking system on the motorcycle has been changed, too. The artist has kept the design of the fuel tank, side panels, and seat the same. Moving to the rear end, the tail section has been heavily tweaked. There is no lighting at the back. The exhaust has been neatly hidden behind the rear cowl. A close inspection also reveals that this enduro motorbike has a larger sprocket at the back.
